Skopje is scheduled to host the 2026 European Judo Cup for seniors on September 19 and 20. According to the Judo Federation of Macedonia, more than 440 judokas from over 40 countries across four continents have registered for the competition. 

Vladimir Trpanovski, president of the Judo Federation of Macedonia, noted that participation levels have exceeded expectations and are significantly higher than previous European Cups held in the city. The event carries high stakes as results will contribute to Olympic Games qualification points. Major delegations include athletes from Russia, Germany, and Italy, with each nation sending more than 50 competitors.
