In La Spezia, Italy, the La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) has initiated the operational phase for the construction of the new Ravano Terminal. As part of a 350 million euro modernization plan by the Contship Group, LSCT signed 90 million euro contracts to acquire 22 high-tech cranes and yard vehicles from a Chinese manufacturer. This equipment, including four ship-to-shore cranes and 18 yard vehicles, is designed to handle vessels with capacities up to 24,000 TEU. The upgrade includes a transition toward decarbonization through the use of fully electric, cabinless remote-controlled yard vehicles and enhanced rail freight synergy. In Barcelona, Spain, Hutchison Ports BEST has commissioned two new Ship-to-Shore cranes manufactured by ZPMC.
