The Euskaltel-Euskadi cycling team has demonstrated strong competitive performance across different international races.

In the Tour de Vendée in France, Xabier Berasategi secured second place following a sprint finish against Alexis Renard. Berasategi, who was part of the early breakaway during the 198.2-kilometer race from Saint-Jean-d'Hermine to Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, expressed satisfaction with the result despite feeling fatigue during the final sprint. This performance helped the team earn UCI points toward their goal of ranking among the top 30 teams to secure Grand Tour invitations.

Later, the team achieved significant success in Panama during the Clásica Provincia de Chiriquí. Berasategi earned his first professional victory in a stage between David and Las Lomas. The team continued its dominance in a subsequent stage from David to Vía Caldera, where Gotzon Martín secured his first professional win, and several teammates finished in the top positions.

Building on these results, the team has officially secured a position within the top 30 of the UCI World Ranking, finishing in 28th place. Cyclist Gari Ugarte confirmed the achievement, noting it was secured following intense competition across four continents. Ugarte emphasized that the milestone was essential for the team’s future and visibility, stating that the commitment shown by the squad was a sign of their “internal cohesion and strength.”

This ranking allows the team the possibility of receiving invitations to Grand Tour races, such as the Vuelta a España, the Giro d’Italia, or the Tour de France, depending on organizer discretion. As the team prepares for the upcoming season, climber Mikel Landa is set to return after signing a two-year contract with the squad.
