The market for residential surveillance is seeing an expansion in battery-powered and solar-integrated camera solutions. Initially, EZVIZ announced a new portfolio of battery-operated cameras featuring AI-driven detection and optional solar charging to provide flexible installation for various housing types.

Following this, Eufy and Reolink introduced specific solar-powered models. Eufy’s Wandleuchte S4 incorporates 4K video, smart lighting, and 60-GHz mmWave radar sensors to minimize false alarms. Reolink released the Solar Floodlight Cam, a more affordable option designed for stable performance without proximity to power outlets, though it lacks certain pan capabilities found in higher-end models.

Anker’s sub-brand, eufy, has since expanded its security ecosystem to include high-end hardware and discounted consumer kits. The Eufy Security NVR System E50 offers a hardwired local solution featuring a NAS-style storage device with at least 2TB of expandable storage and four power-over-ethernet cameras. This system utilizes a local AI agent for on-device facial recognition, footage searches, and cross-camera tracking of people, vehicles, and pets without requiring a subscription.

Additionally, eufy is offering budget-friendly options, such as the eufyCam E40 solar security 2-pack with a HomeBase 2 storage hub, and the IP66 waterproof C31 wired indoor/outdoor camera, which features 1080p resolution and 360-degree pan/tilt capabilities.

In Japan, Anker has further diversified the eufy lineup with the eufyCam C37, a solar-powered camera featuring 2K resolution, color night vision, and auto-tracking. The brand also introduced the Eufy SmartTrack Card E40, an ultra-thin, wallet-sized asset tracker that supports Qi wireless charging and includes a QR-code-based loss prevention mode.
