Initial honorees include Yu Jinxiu, a moxibustion therapy specialist from Hubei Province recognized for supporting rural incomes, and Dong Minfang, president of an agricultural machinery cooperative in Hunan Province.

Further recognition was given to Yin Yuzhen for her four decades of work combating desertification in the Maowusu area of Inner Mongolia. The FAO ceremony in Rome highlighted the role of women in food security and natural resource management.
