Fatah leadership has been focusing on organizational mobilization and preparations for upcoming elections for the Palestinian National Council and the Legislative Council.

In early August, Ruhi Fattouh, Chairman of the Palestinian National Council, met with cadres in Hebron to discuss strengthening democratic life and national participation. Discussions also addressed the political situation in the West Bank and Gaza, with calls for internal unity and the protection of Palestinian prisoners.

By late August, the Fatah Central Committee, led by Hussein al-Sheikh, continued these efforts by discussing election readiness and electing Tayseer al-Bardini as Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee. The leadership also addressed regional security issues, including Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip and settler violence and displacement in the West Bank and Jerusalem, while emphasizing the need for dialogue with other Palestinian national factions to foster unity.

In early September, the Palestinian National Council election follow-up committee met with Fatah leadership in Kuwait. The meeting, which included members such as Yasser Abbas and Ahmed Assaf, focused on coordinating technical and logistical arrangements for elections abroad. Discussions centered on adopting an electoral assembly to select representatives from the Palestinian diaspora in Kuwait, with an emphasis on expanding participation to include women and youth to ensure broad representation.

On September 6, the Fatah Central Committee met in Ramallah, chaired by Hussein al-Sheikh, to review preparations for general elections and assess organizational readiness across various governorates. During this meeting, the committee unanimously elected Jibril Rajoub as Secretary and appointed Dr. Laila Ghannam to the Commission for Development and Empowerment. The committee also addressed Israeli military actions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, calling for international mobilization to support Palestinian rights and statehood.
