# Fatal altercation in Mittersheim, France

In Mittersheim, Moselle, two Ukrainian nationals were detained following a fatal knife fight during a fishing trip involving two minors. 

According to Metz prosecutor David Touvet, a 43-year-old man sustained three stab wounds to the abdomen. Although his condition initially improved following emergency intervention, the investigation expanded after a 44-year-old man, identified as a Russian resident of Germany, was found dead in a pond on Sunday afternoon. 

Authorities have broadened the investigation from an initial murder attempt to include murder and driving or operating under the influence of alcohol. An autopsy is pending to establish the exact cause of death.
