Developments: 2. Police in St Julian’s, Malta, launched an investigation following the death of a 31-year-old Moroccan man in Spinola Gardens. Preliminary reports suggested the victim may have died after an argument where he was struck and fell, hitting his head on concrete. A 27-year-old Polish national, described as a professional boxer, was arrested near St George’s Bay after authorities used CCTV footage to locate him. Subsequent findings identified the victim as Abdellatif Oumakhlouf, a Moroccan construction worker, and the suspect as Sebastian Malinowski, a Polish tourist. An autopsy confirmed that Oumakhlouf suffered a fatal head injury after being punched, causing him to strike his head on the ground. Malinowski has been charged with murder but pleaded not guilty during his court appearance. It was revealed that Polish authorities had previously sought Malinowski for bodily harm in Gdansk, though he was not on any international wanted lists. While the Moroccan diplomatic mission works to repatriate Oumakhlouf’s body, his employer and community leaders have described him as a hardworking individual. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Moroccan worker dies in Malta after altercation with Polish tourist A Moroccan construction worker, Abdellatif Oumakhlouf, died in Malta after an altercation with a Polish tourist, Sebastian Malinowski, who has been charged with murder. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/moroccan-worker-dies-in-malta-after-altercation-with-polish-tourist ### 2026-09-27: St Julian’s police arrest Polish national after suspected murder A 27-year-old Polish national has been arrested in St Julian’s, Malta, following the death of a 31-year-old Moroccan man in Spinola Gardens after an alleged argument. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/st-julians-police-arrest-polish-national-after-suspected-murder --- Cite as: Fatal altercation in St Julian’s, Malta.
