A fatal car accident occurred in the Ponte Primo Sole area of Catania, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to her husband.

Emergency responders, including firefighters and medical teams, arrived at the scene to stabilize the victims and secure the roadway. The woman was rushed to San Marco Hospital, where she passed away shortly after arrival due to severe injuries. Her husband, a man approximately 60 years old, was transported to Garibaldi Hospital, where he is being treated in the orthopedic department for multiple fractures.

While preliminary investigations by the Local Police of Catania initially suggested the crash was an autonomous incident involving only the couple’s vehicle, updated reports now suggest the accident may have been a head-on collision between two vehicles. Local police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact dynamics of the crash.
