A fatal house fire in Woodstock, located north-east of Cowra, resulted in the death of a four-year-old child. The blaze fully engulfed a home on Waugoola Road, and while a woman and two other children escaped, the young boy was not accounted for. Authorities established a crime scene and prepared a report for the coroner.

Following the tragedy, the Woodstock community initiated several support and memorial efforts. The Woodstock Panthers rugby league club chose to wear green armbands during a match to honor the child’s favorite color, declining an offer to postpone the game. Local fundraising, including a GoFundMe page, raised over $115,000 by mid-September, supplemented by a mega raffle supported by residents from Cowra, Bathurst, and Orange.
