In Belgrade, a 42-year-old man, Nenad R., was detained following a fatal stabbing in the Voždovac municipality. Authorities report that a verbal dispute between the suspect and a 29-year-old tenant escalated into violence while the men were drinking together. The suspect allegedly used a kitchen knife to inflict fatal wounds to the victim’s chest and elbow.

During hearings, the suspect claimed the victim had attacked him first with a knife. Investigations noted that the suspect initially provided police with an incorrect address, which delayed the emergency response. He remains in custody as prosecutors work to prevent him from influencing witnesses.
