A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Las Avenidas neighborhood of Mar del Plata at the intersection of Cerrito and Magallanes. The collision began when a Volkswagen Gol Trend struck a Toyota RAV4 from behind.

The impact caused the Toyota to lose control, roll over, and mount the sidewalk, where it struck a group of people standing in front of a local grocery store before crashing into a building.

Of those involved, 36-year-old Maximiliano Nahuel Vandecaveye died at the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos (HIGA) due to severe internal injuries and crushing trauma. Five other people were injured, including a 17-year-old and men aged 18, 21, 30, and 38. The two 21-year-old drivers were uninjured and tested negative for alcohol. Scientific Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
