A fatal head-on collision occurred on the Old National Road of Patras–Pyrgos in the Kato Achaia region on Friday, August 21. The accident involved 46-year-old Eleni Bethoulka, whose vehicle caught fire after the impact, trapping her inside. 

The driver of the second vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Patras. Following the incident, the Hellenic Police arrested the second driver on charges of “manslaughter by negligence.” An investigation by the Patras Traffic Department is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
