A multi-vehicle collision in Punta Lara, Ensenada, resulted in the death of a 10-day-old infant, Tadeo León Ledesma. The accident involved a Ford EcoSport, a Volkswagen UP, and a Fiat Fiorino at the intersection of Almirante Brown and 106. Preliminary investigations suggest the EcoSport struck the Fiat Fiorino from behind before losing control and hitting the Volkswagen UP. The infant’s three-year-old sister was also injured and hospitalized.

The driver of the EcoSport, 66-year-old Oscar Luciano Pacheco, was initially detained and charged with involuntary manslaughter. He was subsequently released following processing by the Ensenada Police. Prosecutor Carlos Vercellone of the UFI N°10 is leading the investigation, which includes examining whether the victims were using appropriate safety seats at the time of the impact.
