FC Barcelona is managing both the historical legacy and the future infrastructure of its Camp Nou stadium. While the club recently marked the anniversary of the stadium’s 1957 opening—noting its transition from the Les Corts venue to a massive arena designed by architects Francesc Mitjans, Josep Soteras, and Lorenzo García-Barbón—it is currently focused on significant renovations.

President Joan Laporta has confirmed that once the Spotify Camp Nou renovation is complete, the club intends to organize a tribute match for Lionel Messi. This ceremony is envisioned for a capacity crowd of nearly 105,000 spectators, potentially occurring between late 2027 and early 2028, though the final decision remains subject to Messi’s approval.
