Sources: 299. Developments: 5. FC Barcelona has maintained a perfect start to the 2026-27 season, securing four consecutive La Liga victories. Following their 5-0 opening win against Elche, the team extended their dominance with a commanding 5-0 away victory against Valencia, featuring two goals from Lamine Yamal and strikes from Fermín López, Raphinha, and Pedri. In their Champions League group stage debut at Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona secured a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord. Raphinha scored twice, while Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal, and new signing Gabriel Jesus also found the net. Gabriel Jesus’s goal marked his first for the club and made him the fourth Brazilian player to score in the tournament. Feyenoord’s lone goal was scored by Sem Steijn in the 82nd minute. The match featured several milestones: Lamine Yamal became the youngest player to captain Barcelona’s first team at 19 years and 58 days old, and Pedri made his 250th appearance for the club. While the team celebrated the win, squad availability remains a concern; Eric García missed the opener due to a UEFA suspension, and players including Frenkie de Jong and Roony Bardghji remain sidelined with injuries. Off the pitch, sporting director Deco addressed transfer strategy, noting the decision to sign Anthony Gordon over Marcus Rashford to meet tactical needs. The club also confirmed a contract extension for Hamza Abdelkarim through July 2030. Additionally, the failed €100 million pursuit of Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez has reportedly prompted FIFA to review regulations regarding contract termination clauses. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-12: FC Barcelona marks Champions League debut with goal and captaincy FC Barcelona's Champions League debut against Feyenoord featured a goal from Gabriel Jesus and captaincy for Lamine Yamal, while Eric García missed the match due to suspension. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/fc-barcelona-marks-champions-league-debut-with-goal-and-captaincy ### 2026-09-09: FC Barcelona defeats Feyenoord 5-1 in Champions League opener FC Barcelona defeated Feyenoord 5-1 in their Champions League opener, featuring goals from Raphinha, Adeyemi, Yamal, and Gabriel Jesus.
