Sources: 31. Developments: 4. Matt Fitzpatrick has secured victory at the 2026 FedEx Open de France at Le Golf National, finishing with a total score of 20-under par (264 strokes). This win marks his eleventh title on the DP World Tour and his fourth victory of the season. The victory is noted as a significant comeback for Fitzpatrick following recent struggles in major tournaments. Fitzpatrick held a five-stroke lead after 54 holes and managed his final round conservatively to withstand challenges from competitors including Eugenio López Chacarra and Kristoffer Reitan. He claimed the championship with a three-stroke margin over Spaniard Angel Hidalgo, who finished at 17-under par. Hidalgo’s performance earned him a qualification spot for The 155th Open at St Andrews in 2027. Eugenio Chacarra, Tom Vaillant, and Matthieu Pavon finished in a tie for third place at 15-under par. During the tournament, English golfer Tommy Fleetwood was forced to withdraw before the third round due to illness, despite having been in a competitive position after two rounds. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Matt Fitzpatrick wins FedEx Open de France Matt Fitzpatrick won the FedEx Open de France at Le Golf National with a 20-under par total, finishing ahead of runner-up Angel Hidalgo. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/matt-fitzpatrick-wins-fedex-open-de-france ### 2026-09-26: Matt Fitzpatrick wins FedEx Open de France by three strokes Matt Fitzpatrick claimed his 11th DP World Tour title at the FedEx Open de France, finishing 20 under par to win by three strokes over Angel Hidalgo at Le Golf National. 22 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/matt-fitzpatrick-leads-french-open-by-five-strokes ### 2026-09-24: Matt Fitzpatrick leads FedEx Open de France after second-round 64 Matt Fitzpatrick holds a one-shot lead at 13-under par after a bogey-free 64 in the second round of the FedEx Open de France at Le Golf National. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/matt-fitzpatrick-leads-fedex-open-de-france-after-two-bogey-free-rounds ### 2026-09-21: FedEx Open de France to begin at Golf National The 108th FedEx Open de France begins September 24 at Golf National, featuring a $3.75 million purse and a field including Matthew Fitzpatrick and Japanese golfers Kuda Kaneko, Yuto Katsuragawa, and Riku Hoshio 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/fedex-open-de-france-to-begin-at-golf-national --- Cite as: Matt Fitzpatrick wins 2026 FedEx Open de France.
