The release of Fedora Linux 45 has faced multiple postponements. Initially scheduled for October 20, the Fedora Project issued a ‘NO-GO’ decision on October 15 because a suitable release candidate was unavailable for evaluation. Operations Architect Aoife Moloney initially set a new target date of October 27.

However, the release was delayed again following the identification of several critical technical blockers. These issues include a compromised certificate in the ‘ca-certificates’ package, an AArch64 Fedora Server installation image that exceeds size limits, and stability problems with Stratis encrypted storage pools that can prevent systems from booting. Other bugs involve LVM configurations with LUKS-encrypted drives and KDE Discover attempting to install outdated packages.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for October 29, 2026, to determine if the software is ready. If blockers are resolved, the project is targeting a new release date of November 3, 2026.
