Fenerbahçe officials confirmed that Spanish footballer Marco Asensio would undergo surgery to treat a cartilage lesion discovered behind his kneecap. Club doctor Ahmet Kulduk noted that while previous injuries were managed through rehabilitation, recent MRI scans necessitated surgical intervention. Football Director Oğuz Çetin dismissed rumors of tension between Asensio and head coach İsmail Kartal, stating the squad remains united.

Following the procedure, the club announced that Asensio underwent a successful arthroscopic operation in Spain. He is expected to undergo a rehabilitation process lasting approximately three months.
