The Festival dei Popoli is scheduled to take place in Asti from September 25 to October 17. Centered on the theme ‘Il filo invisibile: donne, pace, comunità’ (The Invisible Thread: women, peace, community), the event is promoted by the Diocesan Migrants Pastoral Office.

The festival aims to foster reflection on migration, citizenship, peace, and community building. It intends to highlight the role of women in social transformation and mediation, using their experiences as a lens to examine contemporary issues such as conflict and labor. The program includes testimonies, performances, talks, and book presentations involving more than 50 organizations.

The 2026 edition has commenced with discussions focused on the central theme. A featured event in Asti, titled ‘The Consequences of Peace: Women Who Mend the World,’ examined the role of women in conflict prevention, social reconstruction, and the defense of human rights.

During the dialogue, moderated by journalist Giusy Baioni, disarmament activist Lisa Clark and journalist Anna Pozzi emphasized that peace is an active process of mediation, justice, and rebuilding social ties rather than merely the absence of war. Participants noted that women’s involvement is essential for ensuring stability and a future for new generations in fragile contexts.
