Fiat is expanding its vehicle lineup through new model introductions and strategic shifts within the Stellantis group. The brand recently introduced the Grande Panda, a model built on the STLA Smart platform that offers both hybrid and fully electric powertrain options. This expansion has been accompanied by growing aftermarket interest in specialized off-road components for the Panda family.

Building on this momentum, Fiat is planning the launch of the Grizzly, a C-segment SUV designed to serve as a larger alternative to the Grande Panda in the European market. According to Gaetano Thorel, the European head of Fiat and Abarth, the brand is experiencing a recovery with European registrations increasing by 21.7% in the first half of 2026. While the 500 Hybrid has not yet met Thorel’s expectations, the Grizzly is expected to utilize the Smart Car platform and will be available in gasoline, hybrid, and electric versions, with pricing intended to “shock the market”.

Stellantis has announced that the Fiat Grizzly and a Grizzly Fastback—a 4.5-meter model featuring a 600-liter trunk—will make their public debuts at the Turin Auto Show from September 11 to 13, 2026. This replaces the previously expected October debut in Paris. These models, which utilize existing platforms from Citroen and Opel, are intended to bolster competitiveness in Europe and Brazil, with Italian sales expected to begin in early 2027.
