National U-17 football teams from Panama and Cameroon have commenced international training camps in preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

The Panama squad arrived in Salou, Spain, to participate in a series of friendly matches against Australia, Morocco, and CF Tortosa Ebre. Head coach Felipe Baloy noted the tour aims to evaluate the players’ physical and technical conditions against other tournament participants. Panama is scheduled to compete in Group A.

Cameroon’s U-17 team, the Lionceaux, has progressed through several preparation phases. Following initial training in Cameroon—which included a 3-1 victory against the U20 Lions and a 1-1 draw against Tonnerre Kalara Club—the squad moved to Noisy-le-Grand, France, for a camp running through September 27. Coach Thomas Libiih utilized this period to integrate European-based talents from clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Nottingham Forest.

The team recently concluded an intensive evaluation camp in Paris, where they faced FC Versailles U19 and suffered a 2-0 defeat. Coach Libiih described the match as a “positive” experience, stating it served as a “vital test of the players' physical and athletic capabilities against more mature European competition.” The technical staff plans to use data regarding physical impact and resistance to effort to refine the squad. Cameroon is set to compete in Group K against Romania, Venezuela, and Mexico, with their opening match scheduled for November 21 against Venezuela.
