Fiji and Papua New Guinea have implemented measures to strengthen financial oversight and combat economic crime. In Fiji, the Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) reported exceeding revenue forecasts for 2024–2025, attributing success to expanded data analytics and intelligence-led approaches to identify tax evasion.

Fiji is also intensifying efforts to combat illegal transfer pricing, particularly among companies with overseas affiliations. To meet obligations following its removal from the European Union blacklist, the FRCS is participating in the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting framework. While information exchange is currently manual, the agency plans to transition to the automatic exchange of information (CRS) by 2027–28, providing access to data from approximately 150 to 170 jurisdictions.

In Papua New Guinea, the government has increased funding for the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate. These measures, which include tighter cooperation with banks and regulators, aim to strengthen investigations into money laundering and assist the country in exiting the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.
