Brazilian defender Dodô remains involved in a contract dispute with Fiorentina, which previously led to his exclusion from match squads. While the club cited fitness concerns, Dodô refuted these claims on social media, stating, “I am well, very well. Do not believe everything you hear.”

The impasse stems from a lack of a contract renewal proposal meeting the player's expectations. With his current deal set to expire on June 30, 2027, Fiorentina faces pressure to sell the player to avoid losing him without compensation.

Napoli is reportedly evaluating the defender for the January transfer window to bolster defensive depth on the right flank. Dodô’s current salary of approximately 2 million euros net per season is considered compatible with Napoli’s wage structure, and he is viewed as a tactical alternative to players like Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Fiorentina has previously valued him at around 15 million euros, though this figure may become more negotiable as his contract progresses.

Additionally, FC Barcelona is monitoring the 27-year-old as a potential free agent transfer to address a lack of specialized right-back options. If Dodô does not renew his contract by January, Barcelona may begin preliminary negotiations for a pre-contract agreement to secure him for the summer. Other major clubs, including Juventus and Inter Milan, have also expressed interest in strengthening their defenses with the Brazilian defender, who joined Fiorentina from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2022.
