Fiorentina submitted a final proposal for the redevelopment of the Stadio Franchi, which included a potential concession period of 55 to 60 years and an estimated investment of 85 million euros for construction and outfitting. The Municipality of Florence utilized consultancy from the Politecnico di Milano to evaluate the project.

Following this review, the Florence City Council declared the proposal to be of “public interest.” The approved plan involves an initial investment of 101 million euros for construction and stadium outfitting, with the club managing the facility for 60 years. Under this arrangement, the concessionaire will cover all ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and management costs in exchange for a reduced lease fee.

Massimo Sessa, the extraordinary commissioner for stadiums and sports infrastructure, has expressed optimism regarding the ongoing reconstruction of the Artemio Franchi stadium. The project, which aims for completion by 2029, is being managed through a partnership involving the Municipality of Florence and project financing from the Fiorentina family. The stadium's development is part of broader preparations for the EURO 2032 tournament, which Italy will co-host with Turkey. Sessa described the city's administrative efforts as a model for modernizing historical structures.
