Developments: 2. In mid-September 2026, Tehran experienced two separate fire-related incidents involving structural damage and property loss. On September 17, a gas explosion occurred in a residential building in the Falah neighborhood of southern Tehran. Preliminary investigations suggested the blast was caused by a natural gas leak from an appliance. The incident resulted in significant structural damage to a five-story complex and caused injuries to one 24-year-old man, though 12 residents were evacuated safely. On September 21, a major fire broke out at a warehouse complex located west of Tehran near kilometer 11 of the special road. The facility, which housed various household appliances, was partitioned with flammable materials such as sandwich panels and wooden sheets, causing the fire to spread rapidly. While three warehouses were engulfed and faced potential collapse, firefighters prevented the blaze from reaching an adjacent warehouse containing chemical substances. No casualties were reported in the warehouse fire. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-21: Tehran warehouses engulfed in major fire A large fire destroyed three warehouses containing household appliances on Tehran's special road.
