On September 18, the city conducted a large-scale, modern rescue drill at the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Technology Complex Industrial Park. The exercise involved over 600 personnel and 67 specialized vehicles, including firefighting robots and reconnaissance drones, to simulate an electrical failure and subsequent fire emergency. By early October, officials reported that 91 fire incidents had occurred in the city since the beginning of 2026, though no fatalities were recorded. Most incidents were attributed to electrical failures or negligence. In response, the Quang Ninh Fire Prevention and Rescue Police are coordinating with other departments to review transport infrastructure, water sources, and electrical safety in markets and high-risk buildings. Safety experts have also issued guidance on using fire-resistant materials and proper evacuation procedures for high-rise residents. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-02: Quang Ninh intensifies fire prevention and rescue efforts Quang Ninh authorities are intensifying fire prevention measures following 91 incidents this year, while safety experts provide guidance on building safety and high-rise evacuation protocols. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quang-ninh-intensifies-fire-prevention-and-rescue-efforts ### 2026-09-18: Quang Ninh conducts large-scale fire and rescue drill Quang Ninh City conducted a large-scale fire rescue drill involving 600 personnel and 67 vehicles to simulate an industrial fire and improve emergency response coordination. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quang-ninh-conducts-large-scale-fire-and-rescue-drill --- Cite as: Fire prevention and rescue efforts in Quang Ninh.
