FK Partizan has officially appointed Aleksandar Stanojević as head coach, marking his fourth mandate with the club. Stanojević, who recently departed the Turkish side Karagümrük, succeeds Saša Ilić. While Ilić’s departure followed a 0-2 defeat against Čukarički, the club has since characterized the separation as a “mutual termination of contract,” acknowledging his status as a club legend.

Stanojević, who signed a contract through the end of the 2026/27 season with an option for an additional year, stated that while the appointment was unexpected, he accepted because “Partizan calls.” Club director Radoslav Petrović noted the transition was handled quickly to ensure an immediate response to the team's performance. Stanojević has begun assembling a technical staff including Aleksandar Gicov, Miloš Podunavac, and Bojan Stamatović. His first task will be leading the team in a rescheduled match against Radnički Niš.

Stanojević takes over during a period of significant competitive struggle. The team currently occupies tenth place in the Serbian Superliga with 11 points from 12 matches. In an official statement, the club emphasized a commitment to “long-term recovery, financial consolidation, and the development of its youth academy” to rebuild its status.

In addition to the leadership transition, the club has faced internal disciplinary turmoil. During a period when Ilić was still managing the squad, winger Demba Sek was removed from the first team indefinitely following an incident where he allegedly insulted and physically attacked teammate Nikola Čumića during training. Ilić addressed the incident by stating the club must “change its DNA” regarding player discipline.
