Following a poor start to the season in which the Mostar-based club secured only four points from six league matches, FK Velež dismissed head coach Ibro Rahimić.

In response to the vacancy, the club appointed Damir Milanović as the new head coach. Milanović, a UEFA A licensed professional and former assistant at the club, was joined by a new technical staff including assistant coach Marko Đorđević, fitness coach Tomislav Jurković, and video analyst Enej Bruck.
