Between September 13 and 14, 2026, heavy rainfall triggered floods and landslides across several regencies in Aceh, including Gayo Lues, Aceh Tenggara, and Aceh Tengah. The disasters resulted in one fatality and 13 injuries in Aceh Tengah.

In Gayo Lues, the situation escalated as flash floods and landslides caused the collapse of two vital bridges, isolating communities in the Dabun Gelang district. The Blangkejeren-Dabun Gelang route has been restricted to pedestrians and motorcycles, while landslides have blocked the Blangkejeren-Kutacane road. 

The Ministry of Public Works is prioritizing the restoration of the Aih Bobo bridge, which has been severed three times since November 2025. Efforts are also underway to clear seven landslide points along the Blangkejeren–Aceh Tenggara national road and construct a sabo dam in the Tamiang River Basin to mitigate future risks.
