Forest Green Rovers have experienced mixed results in recent National League fixtures. On August 31, the team suffered a 2-1 defeat against Altrincham at The New Lawn, following a late stoppage-time goal by Altrincham’s Kahrel Reddin. Manager Robbie Savage noted the team was punished for an inability to hold results despite dominating possession.

On September 26, Forest Green played to a 3-3 draw against Sutton United at Gander Green Lane. Despite leading for much of the match through goals from Jayden Clarke and Oli Ewing, the ten-man visitors conceded late goals, including a final-minute equalizer by Temi Babalola.
