The Forum Pemimpin Redaksi Indonesia (Forum Pemred) initiated its ‘Run for Good Journalism 2026’ campaign in Jakarta with a preliminary ‘Road to FP Run’ event on October 11, 2026. This precursor included community runs and media discussions aimed at gathering public feedback regarding the Indonesian press.

The main event, held on October 18, 2026, at Atma Jaya Catholic University, featured a 5-kilometer run with approximately 500 participants from the press and the general public. Under the theme ‘Press for the Public’, the initiative sought to address declining public trust and the rise of social media misinformation.

High-ranking officials attended the event, including Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid and Deputy Minister Angga Raka Prabowo. Minister Hafid encouraged journalists to maintain ethical standards and prioritize the public interest by rigorously cross-checking information.
