Police in Ho Chi Minh City arrested 57-year-old Pham Van Hung for defrauding an elderly lottery vendor. On August 21, Hung allegedly offered a 66-year-old woman a ride under the pretense of taking her to a charity distribution point. During the trip, he convinced her to hand over her bag, which contained 300,000 VND and 98 lottery tickets, before fleeing. 

Following a report to the An Dong Ward Police, the Ho Chi Minh City Criminal Police Department worked with local authorities in An Dong and Phuoc Ly to identify the suspect via security camera footage. Hung has been taken into custody for further investigation.
