As the 2027 French presidential election approaches, various political and social movements are defining their platforms and priorities.

In the pre-campaign phase, issues concerning Islam and relations with Algeria have emerged as central themes. Hard-right and far-right figures, including Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella of the Rassemblement National, have proposed sanctions on the Islamic veil in public and the revocation of the 1968 Franco-Algerian immigration agreement.
