Director Fred Cavayé has released a cinematic adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel ‘Les Misérables’. The production features Vincent Lindon as Jean Valjean and Tahar Rahim as Javert.

While the film utilizes a significant budget and has received praise for performances—specifically from Tahar Rahim—critical reception has been mixed. Some reviewers noted that the film adopts a fast, thriller-like pace that may overlook the ‘profound emotional and political weight’ of the original literary work.
