The 27th edition of the French Film Festival in Cuba is scheduled to take place from October 22 to November 4. Organized by the French Embassy, the Cuban Institute of Art and Film Industry (ICAIC), and the Cinemateca de Cuba, the event will showcase 17 films across genres such as drama, comedy, and animation.

For the first time, the festival will expand its programming beyond Havana to include other major cities on the island. The opening film is ‘Los niños de la resistencia’ (The Resistance Children) by Christophe Barratier. French Ambassador Raphaël Trannoy stated that the festival acts as a “vital cultural link” between France and Cuba, even as Cuban cinemas face material limitations and an energy crisis.
