The Michaelis-Kirchweih festival in Fürth, Germany, is scheduled to run from October 3 to October 14, 2026. Recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage site and one of Southern Germany’s largest street festivals, the event is expected to draw approximately 1.5 million visitors.

Initial preparations included the release of a ‘Färdder-Kärwa-Wimmelbuch’ picture book featuring local landmarks and festival highlights. As the festival commencement approached, officials finalized the opening ceremony at the Stadttheater, which includes speeches, the tapping of the first beer barrel, and a fireworks display.

Organizers issued a specific update regarding the opening fireworks, noting a change in the launch location from the Freiheit parking garage deck to the Adenauer-Anlage to avoid previous confusion. Spectators have been advised to view the display from Friedrichstraße or Gustav-Schickedanz-Straße.
