Legal and criminal developments regarding fuel theft have been reported in different regions of Greece.

In Thessaloniki, the Court of Appeals sentenced a former Hellenic Army non-commissioned officer to five years in prison for stealing approximately 300,000 liters of petroleum from a military pipeline between 2013 and 2014. Four civilians were also convicted in connection with the theft, which was valued at over 300,000 euros. The investigation into the incident began in late 2014 after a vehicle carrying machinery fell into an irrigation canal near a tampered manhole.

In the Rodopi region, police arrested three men suspected of belonging to a criminal gang. The group is accused of conducting seven thefts between October 3 and October 21, 2026, targeting agricultural tractors and construction machinery.
