In September 2026, police in Hai Phong conducted operations resulting in the arrest of two wanted fugitives. 

On September 12, authorities arrested Bui Thi Hong Ngoc at Noi Bai International Airport. Ngoc had been wanted since February 2020 for illegal drug trafficking and had been evading authorities while residing in Hong Kong, China. 

In a separate operation on September 10, police apprehended Chen Yihao at the The Minato apartment complex in Le Chan Ward. Chen, a resident of Guangxi, China, had been wanted by Guangxi police since March 2024 for goods smuggling. Both individuals are being processed for handover to the appropriate agencies.
