Following his sudden death from cardiac arrest, renowned Italian artist Enrico Menegatti was honored during a funeral service in Pontelangorino on October 17.

Menegatti was celebrated for his unique sculptures created from driftwood and wood reclaimed from the sea, notably through an “open-air museum” he established at Lido di Volano. His work had achieved international recognition, including coverage by National Geographic. During the ceremony, which was attended by hundreds of local administrators, family, and friends, his wife, Mayor Sabina Alice Zanardi, described him as a “kind, intelligent, and solar individual who saw beauty in everything.”
