The second edition of the ‘Futura: New Perspectives for Culture’ event was held at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The gathering brought together a diverse group of intellectuals, artists, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives to discuss the role of questioning as a driver for knowledge and innovation.

Lombardy President Attilio Fontana addressed the impact of digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence, stating that culture provides the tools to navigate technological changes while maintaining cultural roots. Undersecretary for Culture Pietro Cannella also participated, highlighting the ‘Olivetti Plan’ as an initiative to use culture for economic and social development in peripheral areas. He further noted the Ministry’s commitment to supporting young talent by utilizing Italy’s historical heritage to fuel creativity.

Promoted by Lombardy Regional Councilor for Culture Francesca Caruso, the 2026 edition featured a message of appreciation from the Pope. The event emphasized culture as an economic and social lever for regional development, aiming to expand beyond traditional venues to reach mountain communities, small villages, and internal areas. To foster intergenerational dialogue and engage broader audiences, the program included cross-disciplinary collaborations, such as a pairing between Maestro Sgro and street artist Greg Goya.
