Gangseo-gu Mayor Jin Kyo-hun has announced efforts to expedite the development of the Gangbuk Crossing Line, a 25.79km light rail project connecting Cheongnyangni Station to Mokdong Station. 

The district is pushing to ensure the inclusion of three specific stations near Deungchon Station, the Deungchon 2-dong Community Center, and the Mokdong Intersection area to meet high subway demand and support upcoming urban redevelopment projects. Although the project was previously delayed and saw a reduction in total stations from 19 to 17 due to profitability concerns, Gangseo-gu intends to negotiate with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to restore the original station count and accelerate construction progress.
