The Geomdan District Council in Incheon has been conducting field inspections of local welfare and childcare facilities to address infrastructure needs driven by population growth. In early October, Council Chair Kim Nam-won and other members inspected disability vocational rehabilitation facilities and welfare centers to discuss enhancing economic independence for people with disabilities and improving community-centered integrated care. The council also highlighted the necessity of expanding childcare infrastructure, noting plans to add seven more centers to the district’s existing nine to meet the demands of new residential developments. Following these broader inspections, Chairman Kim specifically visited the Geomdan Public Daycare Center to review safety environments, staffing, and operational challenges. The visit focused on supporting working parents through services such as extended night care and ensuring the quality of childcare for the children served by the facility. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-02: Geomdan-gu Council Chairman inspects local public daycare center Geomdan-gu Council Chairman Kim Nam-won visited a local public daycare center to inspect facilities and discuss improving childcare environments and support for working families. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/geomdan-gu-council-chairman-inspects-local-public-daycare-center ### 2026-09-07: Geomdan District Council inspects welfare and childcare facilities Incheon's Geomdan District Council inspected local disability welfare and childcare facilities to discuss improving economic independence for the disabled and expanding childcare infrastructure for growing de-m 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/geomdan-district-council-inspects-welfare-and-childcare-facilities --- Cite as: Geomdan District Council welfare and childcare inspections.
