The Beitragsservice for ARD, ZDF, and Deutschlandradio has launched a new online tool for residents in Germany to manage their broadcasting fee accounts. 

Designed to reduce the high volume of telephone inquiries, the free digital service allows users to check for outstanding balances, overpayments, and upcoming payment deadlines. Users can access the tool without prior registration by providing their date of birth and a nine-digit contribution number. Kai Winter, head of operations at the Beitragsservice, stated the digital option was introduced to meet citizen demand for more efficient account management.
