The German landscape and garden construction industry (GaLaBau) continues to demonstrate sustained economic growth. The sector recently marked its 16th consecutive year of revenue increases, reaching a total turnover of 11.11 billion euros in 2025. The private garden segment remains the primary driver, accounting for approximately 57 percent of revenue (6.32 billion euros), while the public green space market grew by 8.9 percent to 2.15 billion euros.

The industry comprises nearly 20,000 specialist companies employing 131,746 people, including 8,089 apprentices. 

Technological innovation and specialized machinery are also central to the sector's development. At recent trade fairs, such as the GaLaBau fair in Nuremberg, companies showcased new equipment including battery-powered products from HKL Baumaschinen and specialized attachments like the TX4 forestry mulcher and BTC branch cutter from Cangini Benne. Additionally, Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik GmbH presented intelligent machine concepts, such as the TSL 9088 Pro telehandler and the AKR 9040 dumper, which utilizes a 180-degree rotating skip for unloading in narrow spaces. 

In the related pet and garden sector, the PRO Garten & Tier trade fair reported a stable number of franchisees, with the cat segment identified as a primary growth driver despite a challenging market environment.
