In Dorsten, the Stadtbibliothek Dorsten and Bibi am See in Wulfen will close from October 19 to November 9, 2026, to transition from the Bibliotheca Next system to WinBiAP software. This update aims to introduce digital features such as an enhanced online catalog and a smartphone-accessible digital library card.

In Werne, the City Library will undergo renovations during November and December. The facility will face full closures in early November and mid-December, with only the children’s department remaining open for part of the period. Supported by a 100,000 euro donation, the modernization includes new shelving, seating, and a redesigned non-fiction section intended to serve as a learning and workspace.
