In late 2026, Germany observes several religious holidays with varying legal statuses across its federal states.

Reformation Day on October 31 is a public holiday in Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, and Schleswig-Holstein, though it is not observed as a holiday in Bavaria.

All Saints' Day on November 1 is a statutory public holiday in five states: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland. Because the holiday falls on a Sunday in 2026, no substitute holidays are provided for employees in those states, and schools will not have a scheduled break.

In neighboring regions, All Saints' Day is not a public holiday in the Netherlands, meaning shops and businesses remain open for regular commerce, which may provide options for travelers from German states.
