The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced a new format for the 2026/27 MTN FA Cup, transitioning from a traditional single-match final to a two-legged format. This change is intended to increase competition exposure, allow finalists to host matches for their own supporters, and reduce travel burdens for fans.

Following the announcement of the new final structure, the preliminary-round fixtures for the tournament were confirmed. The preliminary stage involves clubs from the Division One and Division Two Leagues, while the 18 Ghana Premier League clubs are exempt until the Round of 64. The confirmed matchups include several regional derbies, such as the Bono derby and various Northern and Eastern Region matchups.
