Ghana’s National Sports Authority, through its Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee (RMPC), has initiated a program to build a commercially sustainable and inclusive sports system. Key components of this agenda include the establishment of a National Talent Bank and the proposed Constituency Games, a competition pathway intended to identify talent at the community level for progression to regional and national stages. Early efforts included securing in-kind contributions from the Ghana–Anhui Chamber of Commerce for grassroots programs. As the initiative progresses, Sports Minister Kofi Adams has confirmed that the Constituency Games are a “work in progress.” The proposed inaugural disciplines include football, athletics, boxing, and para-sports, with the goal of providing pathways to scholarships, academies, and international competitions. The program also aims to expand employment in coaching, officiating, and sports media. Additionally, the government plans to reconstitute the National Sports Authority board. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-20: Ghana Sports Minister says Constituency Games are work in progress Ghana’s Sports Minister says the proposed Constituency Games, designed to create talent pathways for young athletes, remain a work in progress as officials work to structure the initiative. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ghana-sports-minister-says-constituency-games-are-work-in-progress ### 2026-08-25: Ghana National Sports Authority RMPC launches new talent development initiative Ghana’s National Sports Authority RMPC has launched a new initiative to develop grassroots talent through the proposed Constituency Games and a National Talent Bank. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/ghana-national-sports-authority-rmpc-launches-new-talent-development-initiative --- Cite as: Ghana sports talent development initiatives.
