# Ghanaian footballers transferring to Saudi Arabia

Following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ghanaian footballers have begun transitioning to clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Midfielder Kwasi Sibo, a free agent after his contract with Real Oviedo expired, indicated he was evaluating offers from England, Germany, and the Saudi Pro League, noting that his family favored a move to Saudi Arabia. 

Other Ghanaian players have already finalized moves to the region. Striker Albert Amoah, a 24-year-old centre-forward, completed a permanent transfer to the Saudi First Division League club Hajer FC on August 14, 2026. Amoah joined Hajer FC following a period with the Libyan side Al-Ahly, which included a loan spell back to Asante Kotoko earlier in 2026. Before his time in North Africa, he established himself in the Ghana Premier League with Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko. 

Additionally, centre-back Kofi Agbesimah transferred to Al-Etisalat SC.
